The Organising Committee is pleased to announce that it will host the 2018 IUG-SA Annual Conference at Emperors Palace from 7-8 November 2018. This conference brings together member libraries to share experiences, build relationships and generate excitement for the new digital age of information.
The Committee cordially invites proposals for papers to be presented at the IUG-SA 16th Annual Conference with the theme “Digital Transformation in Libraries”. The conference theme is a challenge on reimagining the way we work, the way technology supports libraries and speculating on future trends and directions.
Conference papers are sought in all areas related to library and information service systems and technology; including, but not limited to, the following:
- Innovative Interfaces Inc. (III) product experience; e.g. Decision Centre, Offline Circ, Circa, Express Lane, MyLibrary, Encore, Program Registration, Research Pro, API’s, SkyRiver, WebBridge, Vital, WebPAC, Web Access Management (WAM)
- Sierra Experiences; e.g. in Acquisitions, Cataloguing, Circulation, Create Lists, Electronic Resource Management, Interlibrary Loan, Serials, Web Management Reports

- Patron-driven technology
- Research Data Management (RDM)

Whilst priority will be given to contributors on the suggested themes, presentations on other relevant topics will also be considered. All proposals will be evaluated by a joint panel of the IUG-SA Organising Committee and selected professionals in the industry in a blind review. The proposals will be judged on their relevance to the field of library and information service systems and technology as well as on the strength of the idea and potential member interest. All applicants will be notified of the decision. However, the decision of the selectors is final and no correspondence with regard to acceptance or rejection of submitted papers will be entered into.
