From its inception in 1993, the Innovative Users Group (IUG) has been an independent organization dedicated to serving as a forum for new and experienced users of products and services developed at Innovative. The group disseminates information on the use of Innovative tools and fosters relationships and communication between all concerned. The IUG is unique in the library technology industry for its independence, size, and productivity. For example, the IUG holds an annual conference that has grown steadily in participation by librarians and by third-party vendors of library products and services. A recent annual conference in San Jose, California attracted over 1,700 library professionals from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas, who participated in over 150 programs presented by their colleagues.
